Timeless insights for luxury brands.
Back in my teenage years, I interned at several advertising agencies, including the industry giant, TBWA Worldwide.
It wasn’t quite as “sexy” an experience as they portray in the hit series Mad Men, but it was certainly fast paced and exciting, and it taught me a great deal about advertising at a very young age.
One thing that stood out then (and still comes in handy today) is the strategy of freewriting: writing continuously—without stopping to read or edit your thoughts—before ruthlessly reviewing and editing what you have written, until a winning idea emerges.
01. INSIGHT
Freewriting works brilliantly for luxury brands because it allows for creative freedom.
It gives your brain permission to think outside the box and jot down ideas without the need to be grammatically correct, meticulously polished, or perfectly on point.
Since the world will only see the end (edited) result, the process is yours to play with.
Use that to your advantage.
It’s amazing the ideas that surface when you practice writing without judgement.
02. INSPIRATION

03. INTENTION
Give freewriting a try.
Choose a product or service you want to sell more of, set a timer for 10 minutes, and write down as many ways you can think of to advertise that particular product or service.
Some ideas will be better than others, and that’s the point.
When you begin the review and editing process, the fluff quickly disperses, leaving behind solid gold.
